Here’s a look at all the teams left in the playoffs as of the posting of this article, and their chances.

Boston Red Sox

The team finished with the best record in the majors. Of course, the playoffs are a completely different situation, and they face hated rival the New York Yankees in the divisional round. It might be the most emotional series in all the playoffs. The Yankees’ bullpen, arguably better than the Red Sox, could spell trouble for Boston.

Houston Astros

The Astros only had an “ordinary” season in comparison with the team’s stellar 2017 championship season. The team still has a powerful batting lineup, one of the best pitching rotations in baseball, and now the experience of what it takes to win it all.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers have the best lineup left in the National League – but that’s been said at least a few times since 1988, the last time the Dodgers won the World Series. Can this be the year they put it all together? With the Chicago Cubs eliminated from the playoffs, the runway is a bit clearer.

New York Yankees

It feels weird to put the Yankees so far down on the list. After all, they have a good chance against the Red Sox. They also almost knocked out the Astros last year. Much like the Milwaukee Brewers, the Yankees are a team that seems like a longshot to win it all, but it won’t be completely shocking if they conquer the 2018 World Series.

Milwaukee Brewers

If a hot streak is what is most important during playoff time, then the Brewers are the team to watch. They beat out the Cubs to win the divisional title, skipping the Wildcard Game that got the Cubs knocked out of the playoffs. The Brewers are the hottest team and that’s been enough for clubs in the past.

Colorado Rockies

They surprised many by beating the Cubs in the wildcard round. Now they face a tough test, coming up against the red-hot Brewers. However, if they can get past that series, anything seems possible, especially if they face divisional rival the Dodgers in the league championship series.

Cleveland Indians

The Indians are a good team in an American League stacked with great ones. One caveat: they have given the Astros trouble in the past. But they seem like a speed bump this year, at best.

Atlanta Braves

The Braves seems about a year – maybe two – ahead of schedule. They face the Dodgers in the first round. The prospects are not good.Anything is possible, and a Braves-Indians World Series shouldn’t be ruled out. The fun now is to see what actually happens.
