Welcome to Diamond Mind Online by Imagine Sports, the historical fantasy baseball game powered by a customized version of Diamond-Mind, rated an Editor's Choice by PC Magazine as the most realistic baseball simulation software.
Diamond Mind Online is the most realistic baseball simulation game available online. Team owners can choose from over 18,000 players from throughout the history of baseball, including the Negro Leagues and Nippon Professional Baseball, who will perform in all respects just as they did in real life. Even the impact that different parks and weather have on the game (including those cold, wet days in April and October) is included.
Your League
Your first decision as a team owner is to choose a league to join. You can enter your team in a Standard League (DH or No DH), which will be set up just as soon as it is full (usually within 1-2 days), or choose from one of the many Custom Leagues.
There is an endless variety of Custom Leagues because of the many different options available, including the era in which the league is set, the salary cap, weekly income, and other parameters for team budgets; whether teams will be selected by manual or automated draft; the effect of weather and injuries, trading rules, etc. If you don't find a Custom League that suits you, you can create one yourself. Once you've joined or created a league, the real fun begins: putting together your team!
Your Team
Having joined a league, it's time to choose a park and players for your team. Unless you are playing in an unlimited Custom League, you'll have to fit your roster (25 active and 3 inactive players) within your salary cap. The salary cap in Standard Leagues is $100 million. In Custom Leagues it can be any amount from $50 million up.
Players have set salaries, which are adjusted periodically based on their usage. The minimum is $500,000, and there are many replacement level type minimum salary players. Babe Ruth presently is the highest salaried player at over $29 million.
Will you build your team around an ace rotation in a pitchers' park, or around sluggers in a band box? A highly paid superstar complemented by role players, or a more balanced roster? It's your choice!
Your Player
If there's one thing baseball fans love, it's statistics, and Diamond Mind Online has practically every stat imaginable. To help you find just the player you're looking for, the stats from players' careers are searchable and sortable in virtually any conceivable combination.
We even keep track of the stats from every simulated game in each player's Diamond Mind Online career. You can search, sort and filter those stats as well, for information like how a player performed in simulated games in particular parks or a particular era of play.
And during the season, the statistical performance of your team and league is tracked and reported from every possible angle.
The Season
You've joined a league, chosen a park, and selected your team. Finally it's Opening Day!
Games are played 3 times a day (from 3 a.m., noon, and 6 p.m. ET), 6 days a week, so it takes 9 weeks to complete the 162 game regular season schedule.
You can follow your team by checking your box scores and team stats. For a more complete account of each game there is a batter-by-batter game log linked to each box score. Or, for the ultimate simulated experience, you can choose suspense mode and watch each of your games unfold in our unique play-by-play, designed to allow you to watch each of your team's games from start to finish in just a few minutes.
